JeMarie I. Wilson Becker

Marie I. Wilson Becker, 77 died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. She was born on June 2, 1932 in Erie, Pa., a daughter of James T. "Scottie" and Elizabeth Maxwell Wilson.

Marie graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1951. She worked at the telephone company in Girard, the Erie Infants Home and also as a cook for many different restaurants in Erie, Girard, Alaska, and Buffalo. She also worked in the commissary at the Erie County Home (now Pleasant Ridge Manor), during weekends for several years. She returned to Girard from Alaska in 2000 and has resided there since. She was a member of the Girard Presbyterian Church, a member of the Eagles Club in Fairbanks, Alaska and enjoyed roller skating and was 'Grandma' to the Kanucks Hockey Team in Fairbanks, Alaska.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her ex husband Charles H. Becker whom she married in October of 1958, also by a daughter in infancy Lisa Marie Becker; a granddaughter, Alexa Elizabeth Moore and a brother in law, Robert Dunn. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn E. Becker of Girard; a sister, Isobel Dunn of Girard; four grandchildren, Preston, Raegan, Chandler and Bailey Moore; a niece, Jeri Dunn and her husband Nasser; two nephews, Duane Dunn and his wife Amy, Chris Dunn and a cousin, Betty Maxwell LaRose.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday April 11, 2010 at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard from 2 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater PA., 1128 State St., Erie, PA. 16501
