Patricia B. Behre Boyle
Patricia B. Behre Boyle, 79 of Lake City, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday February 19, 2010. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, New Years Eve, 1930 a daughter of the late Walter C. and Margurite Gaynor Behre.
Following her graduation from Summit High School in Summit , N.J., she attended Simmons College in Boston where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. As America was involved in the Korean Conflict, Pat accepted a commission with the US Navy in 1952 where she served as an administrator in the Boston area. During her service in the she met her future husband Richard Boyle who was also serving in the Navy. Pat later resigned her commission as Lieutenant and moved to the Buffalo, N.Y. area where her husband was in Medical School. While there Pat was active being a mom and taking care of her family. She and Dick moved to Lake City in 1959 and has resided there since. While Dick had been in practice in Lake City, she assisted him as office manager for many years. She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard and from there received an Outstanding Service Award. She was named as "Lady of St. Patrick" in 2002 for dedicated service to church and community. She was a former board member of the American Red Cross and managed the West County Blood Drive for 30 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Joseph Behre. She is survived by her husband Dr. Richard C. Boyle, whom she married on Thanksgiving Day 1954 in New Providence ,N.J.; also by twin daughters, Kathleen m. "Casey" Linnemeyer of Cortez, Colo., Maureen "Tracy" Kulik and her husband Richard of Dawsonville, Ga., Patricia S. "Trish" Wampler and her husband Doug of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Sean P. Boyle and his wife Donna of Auburn, N.Y., Robert E. Boyle and his wife Kim of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Lillian O'Brien and her husband Dan of Gillette, N.J.; a brother Roger Behre and his wife Claire of West End, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, Britta Gillis, Kelly Haydon, Kyle Linnemeyer, Michael Kulik, Mark Kulik, Shannon Wampler, Rick Wampler, Katie Wampler, Greg Boyle, Ben Boyle, Lynn Bancroft, Sarah Boyle; three great grandchildren, Brianna Haydon, Seth Bancroft and Lilly Bancroft also several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours observed. Funeral Services will be announced in the Erie Times-News later this week. Memorials may be made to the St. John's Parish Center Fund.
