L. Leora Cochran Frey

L. Leora Cochran Frey, 93, a resident of Manchester Presbyterian Lodge and formerly of Lake City, died Monday December 29, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born in Washington Twp., a daughter of the late Robert and Genevieve Propeck Cochran.

Leora graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1934. She later worked as an inspector at Girard Mfg., a clerk for the Cleveland Board of Education, a bookkeeper at the Lake City Garage, and was a secretary at the Girard School district. Most recently she had been employed by American Sterilizer as a stenographer and retired from there as a secretary.

She was a member of the OES Western Reserve chapter #71 in Cleveland, Ohio and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 474.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death in 1959 by her husband Paul H. Frey whom she married on Feb. 01, 1934; sisters Lorene Platz, Julia Cochran, Marcia Pieper and Freda Walker; brothers Joseph, Stuart, Delbert, James, and Charles Cochran; and her dear friend Joseph Schauman. She is survived by her sister Mary Allen of Napoleon, OH; brother Robert Cochran and his wife Luella of Fairview; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 3-6PM at the Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. and are invited to attend services there on Saturday at 2PM with Rev. Darrell Greenawalt officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
