Suzanne Fickenworth Woodley Ames

Suzanne Fickenworth Woodley Ames, 70 of Girard died Thursday April 17, 2008 at her home. She was born May 29, 1937 in Erie, a daughter of the late Joseph D. and Mildred (Ziacak) Fickenworth.

She graduated from McDowell high School in 1955, later working at the Home Drive-in as well as the Pony Express convenience stores employed as a manager. She most recently worked for Martucci's Tavern in Erie as a cook. She enjoyed bingo, sewing, cooking and camping in the Tylersburg, PA. area as well as throughout the United States.

She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Ames Sr., whom she married July 16, 1994; four sisters, Dorothy Chapman, Mildred Gunther, Dorothy McKiernan and Mary Richardson; and four brothers Harry, Daniel and John Fickenworth and Henry Kutterna. She is survived by three daughters Cindi Lou Way and her husband Gary of Cape Coral, FL., Joyce Onlee McLaughlin of Edinboro, and Millie Anne Etter of Winetka, CA., two sons Thomas C. Woodley Jr. and his wife Margie of Niles, MI., and Bryan J. Woodley and his wife Sandra of Lake City; a stepdaughter Julie Kirby and her husband James of Alvarado, TX.; two stepsons Scott Ames and his wife Dana and James Ames Jr. all of Alvarado, TX.; brothers Joseph Fickenworth Jr. and his wife Carol of Lake City, William Fickenworth, Raymond Fickenworth, all of Erie; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather Tuesday, April 22 at 10:00 AM for a graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 4523 Love Rd., Erie PA 16506. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, Girard.
