Norma J. Yount Burns

Norma J. Yount Burns, 73 of Fairview died on Sunday Februrary 10, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1934 in Mayport, PA. a daughter of the late Elwood and Grace Geist Yount.

Norma graduated from the Punxsutawney High School and later worked for Cameron Mfg., a division of Sylvania, in Reynoldsville. She moved to Wesleyville in 1962. She lived in the Brookville area for a period of time before moving to Fairview in 1978 where she has resided since. She had most recently been employed at the Girard Dinor where she worked for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Reynoldsville Chapter #220 Order of the Eastern Star, the VFW Post Auxiliary in Millcreek, a life member of the Erie Twins Club and enjoyed flower gardening. Norma's priority had been her family and was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clair and Glenn Yount. She will be sadly missed by her family which includes her husband, Robert E. Burns, whom she married September 3, 1955 at the Langville, PA. Methodist Church; three daughters, Michele L. Steele and her husband Edward of Fairview, Robin S. Quint and her husband Marc of Dexter, MI., Karen A. Burns of Painesville, OH., two sons, Michael L. Burns of Brookville, Robert E. Burns Jr. and his wife Emily of Jacksonville, FL.; three sisters, Nina Smathers and her husband Roscoe of Mahaffey, Bertha Dinger and her husband Byron of Punxsutawney, Louise Vasbinder of Punxsutawney; three brothers, Daryl Yount and his wife Dorothy of Punxsutawney, Harold Yount and his wife Jean of Strongsville, OH., William Yount and his wife Ruby of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Gregory Steele, Erin Burns, Melissa Steele, Kristen Burns and Olivia Burns, also many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services will be held there on Thursday at 10AM. Rev. Dennis Miller, Pastor of the Fairview United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Reynoldsville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA. 16505
