Lois J. Patten Erickson
Lois J. Patten Erickson, 76 of Girard, died Sunday December 2, 2007 at Hamot Medical Center.
She was born October 11, 1931 in Butler, Pa., a daughter of the late Glen and Leora "Pearl" Corbett Patten.
Lois graduated from the Albion High School in 1949 and later worked for Johnson's Feed Mill in Albion as a clerk. She and her husband owned and operated Ericksons Fruit Farm for 50 years on Drury Road in Girard, she later worked for Goodwin Farms for 15 years.
She was a member of the Girard United Methodist Church; a 51 year member of the Elk Creek Grange, where she was Secretary since 1972; a member of the Albion chapter #22 Order of the Eastern Star; she enjoyed many types of crafts; flower gardening, sewing and quilting for her family and enjoyed watching the boys and girls "Yellowjacket" basketball.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley M. Erickson.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse D. Erickson, whom she married, June 3, 1953 in Albion, also by a daughter, Connie L. Johnson and her husband Michael of Girard; a son, James A. Erickson and his wife Kathy of Girard; three sisters, Esther Swift and her husband Herald of Edinboro, Ruth McBeth of Girard, Ann Adamson and her husband Dennis of Albion; two brothers, Glen Patten and his wife Marion of Conneaut, OH., John Patten and his wife Janice of Albion; five grandchildren, Sheree Tice and her husband John of Suffolk, Va., Matthew Johnson and his Fiance' Jessica Murzynski of Carrollton, VA., Doug Erickson of Nashville, TN., Dan Erickson of Girard, Amy Erickson of Girard and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services will be held on Wednesday at the Girard United Methodist Church at 10AM, Rev. Darrell Greenawalt Pastor of the Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
