Irene J. Michalak Felix

Irene J. Michalak Felix, 81 of Reichert Rd., Erie, died Saturday September 1, 2007 following a lengthy illness. She was born January 6, 1926 in Erie, a daughter of the late Serafin and Anna Buczynski Michalak.

Irene graduated from Villa Maria Acadamy High School in 1945. Later she became an Insurance Agent and worked for Shreve-Rhinehart / Bay Area for many years and most recently for Phillips Insurance where she retired from. She was a member of the St. George Catholic Church in Erie and enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. Irene was a devoted and caring wife and mother, who's priority in life was to take care of her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister in infancy Joanne Irene, also by sisters, Dorothy Start, Evelyn Borek, Lillian Navecky. She is survived by her husband James J. Felix, whom she married May 17, 1952 in Erie, also by a daughter, Janice R. Marquand and her husband Joseph of Hilo, Hawaii and son, Gregory J. "Greg" Felix of Erie; two brothers, Henry Michalak and his wife Marion of Millcreek, Leonard Michalak of Erie and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-5PM and 7-9PM at Daniel R.Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10AM at St. George Catholic Church,5145 Peach St. Erie, Msgr. Richard Mayer officiating.
