Otto S. "Luke" Warner
Otto S. "Luke" Warner, 77 of Lake City, died Monday August 27, 2007 at Hamot Medical Center, following injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born March 12, 1930 in Girard, a son of the late Otto L. and Bessie W. Abbey Warner.
He graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1949. Following high school he worked for a time for Marx Toy's in Girard. He became interested in Juggling at an early age which became a passion for him. He worked as a Juggler and a Clown for the John Strong Circus and toured throughout the state of California. He also had made an appearance on the TV Show the "Ted Mack Amateur Hour" in 1953. He returned to the Girard area and worked for the Finestra Corp. and most recently had been employed by PHB in Fairview, where he retired from in 1981. He was also a former Girard Boro Tax Collector.
Luke was a devoted and loving husband, father and very proud grandfather, who also enjoyed fishing and spending as much time with his family as possible.
He was a member of the Girard Alliance Church where he served in various capacities over the years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Laurence Warner.
He is survived by his wife Lucille "Lou" Robertson Warner, whom he married September 6, 1958 in Wesleyville, also by three sons, David S. Warner and his wife Molly of Sellersville, PA., Rev. Mark V. Warner and his wife Dianne of Overland Park, KS., Eric A. Warner and his wife Sandy of Girard; two sisters, Esther Polk of Moreno Valley, CA., Myrtle "Pinky" Scott and her husband Raymond of Sun City, AZ., four brothers, Kenneth Warner of Girard, David Warner of Punta Gorda, FL., Richard Warner and his wife Peggy of Phoenix City, AL., James Warner and his wife Dona of Girard; eight grandchildren, Alexis Dasari and her husband Daniel, Cameron, Brittany, Krystopher, Savannah, Rachel, Ryan and Nicole Warner, also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services on Friday at the Girard Alliance Church, 229 Rice Ave. at 10AM. Rev. Clyde Davis officiating.
Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
