Margot "Ingrid" Carli

Margot "Ingrid" Carli, 53 of Honeybrook Circle, Girard, died unexpectedly on Saturday August 4, 2007 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born February 28, 1954 in Pegnitz, West Germany, a daughter of Franz and Gertude Schoppa Ponitz of Pegnitz, Germany.

She was raised and educated in Germany where she graduated from high school. She met her husband Eugene there while he was serving in the U.S. Army, returning with him to the United States and eventually the Girard area in 1981. She had worked at Reliable Taylors & Dry Cleaning; the House of Edinboro and most recently for Berman Bedding in Erie as a seamstress. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved her cats, "Rocky" and "Benji" and her dog "Cody". She also loved flower gardening and helping people in the community with her seamstress work.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Eugene G. Carli, whom she married September 21, 1979 in Pegnitz, Germany; also a son, Stefan Ponitz and his wife Susanne of Pegnitz; three sisters, Stephie Lanterman and her husband Tim of Lake Butler, Fla., Gertrude Claus and her husband Harry of Pegnitz, Alki Kacrkowsky and her husband Paul of Pegnitz; two brothers, Karl Ponitz and his wife Petra and Franz Ponitz all of Pegnitz; her mother-in-law, Lena Carli of Erie and brother-in-law, Charles Carli of Erie; also several nieces, nephews aunts and uncles.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave. Girard at 10a.m., Rev. William O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery
