John J. Dudas

John J. Dudas, 81 of Lake City, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday April 27, 2007 He was born June 20, 1925 in Erie a son of the late John and Anna Estok Dudas.

He graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1944. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. where he was stationed aboard the USS Battleship New Jersey. When his military service was over he returned to the area and operated a fruit farm. He later became a Stock Broker, managing the office of Arthur R. Hefren Securities and later operating his own insurance business, John Dudas Associates in Girard. He then returned to his true love of farming and retired. He was a member of the Erie Christian Fellowship Church where he was an usher. His real enjoyment in life was his family which he loved fixing weekend brunch's for, as often as possible.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, James Dudas; a sister, Anna Stasko and brothers, Michael, Andrew, and George Dudas. John is survived by his wife, Kathryn R. Mangold Dudas, whom he married July 8, 1950 in Erie also by four daughters; Susan Tomlin and her husband Steven, Kathleen Beam and her husband Douglas, Marilyn Sanchioli and her husband Alex and Jean Klobusnik and her husband Ken. Three sons, David Dudas and his wife Karen, Gary Dudas and his wife Kim and John Dudas and his wife Stacia. A sister, Helen Klamar; eighteen grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Justin, Nicole, Jordan, Alexis, David, Brian, Josh, Ryan, Michael, Rob, Aaron, Amy, Jillian, Derek, Kenton and Kon. Also by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. A service will be held Monday at the Erie Christian Fellowship Church, 5900 Sterrettania Rd, at 10 a.m. with Rev. James Dumont officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Girard. Memorials may be made to the Erie Christian Fellowship Church, The Erie City Mission, 1023 French St., Erie 16501 or to the Lake City Volunteer Fire Co., 2232 Rice Ave., Lake City, Pa. 16423
