Anne Valiga Felege

Anne Valiga Felege, 91, formerly of Girard, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at St. Mary’s Home West. Anne was born in Braddock, Pa., Allegheny County on October 17, 1915, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann Timko Valiga.

She graduated from the Scott High School in Braddock in 1933, later moving to the Girard area and then to Erie where she lived the remainder of her life. She assisted her husband with the family business for many years, who was a well known building contractor in the West County. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Erie. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid card player. She began a 500 Club at the age of 20 and continued this club into her 90’s. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Felege in 1979, also by two brothers Michael and Andrew Valiga, also by several step brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Carole A. Anderson and her husband James of Girard; two sons, Gary M. Felege of Erie and Steven B. Felege and his wife Beth of Lake City; a sister, Elizabeth “Lee” Higgins of Erie; five grandchildren, Beth, Matt and Eric Anderson and Christopher and Caralynn Felege; two great-grandchildren, Micah and Madison Anderson; two step-brothers, Frank Licsko of Girard and Steven Licsko of Lake City; also by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Friends are invited to attend the Panachida Service on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at SS Cyril & Methodious Byzantine Catholic Church in Girard. Rev. Andrew Deskevich officiating. Memorials may be made to the West County Paramedic Association Auxiliary, 9678 East Peach St., Girard, PA 16417
