Cathy Dugan Bland Potoker, age 58, of Harborcreek, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at UPMC Hamot following a prolonged illness. She was born in Erie on October 7, 1953, the daughter of Dr. Robert and Barbara King Dugan.

Cathy was a 1971 graduate of Academy High School and received an R.N. Degree from Sharon Hospital School of Nursing. She was a psych nurse practitioner in Connecticut and returned to Erie to work at Brevillier Village, Pleasant Ridge Manor East, and one of her most beloved positions, with Case Management Support Services. Cathy was an inspector with the Pennsylvania Inspection Care Team. Her most recent position was as a nurse in the Behavioral Health Program at the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Cathy loved her perennial gardens, the many birds that were in her backyard, driving her Toyota convertible, and especially time with her granddaughter.

Cathy is lovingly survived by her husband, David Potoker, the beloved mother of Bailey Nicole Bland (fiancé' Joel Shafer) and her granddaughter, Shaina Cathryn Shafer; two sisters, Diana Simoni (Len) and Barbara Razmilic (Zan); two brothers, Robert B. Dugan, II (Nancy) and George Dugan (Kathy); her former husband, Alan Bland (Lorri); her best friend, Karen Leo (Art); nieces and nephews; and her extended family of friends and coworkers.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Sunday from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 3 p.m. conducted by Chaplain David Fugate.
