Gary "Wyan" Lantz

Gary "Wyan" Lantz, age 65, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at his residence in Millcreek Twp. He was born in Erie on December 29, 1946, the son of Emmy Lou Imler Lantz Loomis of Millcreek Twp. and Stanley Wyan Lantz of Butler, Pa.

Gary was a graduate of Warren High School Class of 1964; and had also attended Allegheny College. He was self-employed as a graphic artist and musician. During his music career he lived and performed in New York City, and also performed with several bands locally. He was the owner of Lantz Research Associates; Cultural Resource Management Firm, performing archeological assessments for the oil and gas industry. He was known as a local and regional fine artist with works displayed throughout the country.

Gary is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sherry A.H. Lantz; one son, Travis Wyan Lantz of Warren, Pa.; one brother, Kevin Lee Lantz of Ripley, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Jon Lantz; a cousin, Fred Johnson; and his sister-in-law, Kimberly Lantz.

No calling hours will be observed. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Meeder's Restaurant, Main Street, Ripley, N.Y. Memorial gifts may be designated to the family through the funeral home. The Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road is handling arrangements.
