Matthew Reid Hood

Matthew Reid Hood, age 38, of Lawrence Park, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. He was born February 3, 1973 in Erie, beloved son of Dianne Clawson Hood Williard and the late Marvin E. Hood. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Eric Hood.

Matthew was educated in Wattsburg, Wilmore, Ky. and Lawrence Park. He also lived for a time in Tennessee, but mostly in the Erie area. Locally he had worked for Wal-Mart, Port Erie Plastics and Welch Foods. In his recreation he enjoyed his music, playing with his children and spending time with his friends.

In addition to his mother, Matt is survived by his wife of 12 years, Bobbi Ann Stewart Hood and their children, Devon and Natalie Hood, and his older children, Samantha Pollack of Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Zachary Pollack of Erie. Additional survivors include one aunt, Merrilee Sharie of Ripley, N.Y.; one uncle, Joel Clawson of Sayre, Pa., and ten cousins. He also leaves two especially close friends, Sean Orsefski and Jamie Barnett, whose friendship meant so much.

Friends will be received at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service there at 3 p.m. conducted by Fr. George Strohmeyer.
