Betty Jane Hintenach, age 89, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sinnemahoning, Pa. on January 1, 1923, daughter of the late Stewart and Margaret Darrin Irwin.

Betty was employed with Erie Resistor for many years. She also managed the Apollo Restaurant before retiring from K-Mart. Betty was an avid "Words with Friends" player on her ipad, having made many friends from across the nation. She enjoyed her family the most, being a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Francis Hintenach in 1979; one sister, Joanne Binney; and two brothers, Carroll and Vance Irwin.

Survivors include her four loving daughters, Jeanne Hogue (Clifford) of Oahu, Hawaii, and Gale Hale, Linda Miller (Ronald) and Nancy Steigmeyer all of Harborcreek Twp., 10 grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Leslie, Christopher, Joseph, Carrie, Clay, Raymond, Maggie and Haley; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to gather with the family on Wednesday at South Harborcreek United Methodist Church from 2 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. Keith McGarvey. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road.
