Merle E. Allshouse

Merle E. Allshouse, age 87, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Twinbrook Medical Center. He was born in Brookville, Pa. on September 14, 1924 son of the late Alton and Dorothy Campbell Allshouse.

A resident of Erie since 1964, Merle worked for General Electric Co. for 22 years, retiring in 1987. He had also worked at the Kendall Service Station in Brookville, Pa. for 10 years and in the coal industry for many years. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Merle is survived by his daughter, Tanda Allshouse of Erie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Henry Allshouse in 1984; one brother, Earl Allshouse; and one sister, Evelyn Park.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Sunday from 2 to 6 and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Monday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Damon Peterson of Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will be private at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 2420 Cumberland Rd., Erie, PA 16510 or a Charity of One's Choice.
