Louise C. Bencivenga

Louise C. Bencivenga, age 80 of Erie, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in Brookville, PA on May 4, 1931, daughter of the late Samuel and Christina Beer Confer.

Louise had resided in Erie since 1942. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, was recently confirmed there and had also volunteered for the Food Pantry and bereavement luncheons to comfort parishioners of the church.

She enjoyed dancing, clog dancing, sewing, cake decorating and her YMCA "Water Babes" group. She was an incurable "Roadwarrior" and would jump into her little Dodge and drive a thousand miles at a moments notice to see her children, family and friends.

The widow of Anthony D. Bencivenga, she is survived by two daughters: Linda Glandorf (Ken) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Brenda Hart (Mike) of Erie; four sons: John Richardson (Kathy) of Findley Lake, NY, Sam Richardson (Brenda) of Roanoke, VA, Paul Richardson (Amy) of Fincastle, VA and Danny Russell Richardson of Erie; one sister, Cathy Jenkins (Price) of Erie; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Thompson and Viola DaSilva and two brothers: Sam "Buck" Confer and Ben Confer.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., EAST, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be held on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial there at 10 AM. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research, 130 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16501.
