Jane E. Allen

Jane E. Allen, age 77, of Erie, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at UPMC Hamot. She was born December 4, 1933 in Erie, daughter of the late Jennie L. King Allen. She had resided in Erie her entire life.

Jane had been employed by Erie Insurance Co. for several years prior to her retirement. She had also been previously employed by the former Erie Resistor Co. Jane had been affiliated with St. Stanislaus, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. James R.C. Church parishes. She enjoyed shopping trips, bus excursions and especially enjoyed crafting, ceramics and stamping. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur J. "Sam" Allen, who passed away on August 4, 1977; one brother, Richard Allen and her dear family friend, Stanley Grucza.

Survivors include three children, James M. Allen (Lori) of Harborcreek, Linda J. Fatica (Ken) of Erie and Lt. Col. Stephen L. Allen, USAF (Karen) of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Marion "Ruth" Rounds and Prugh Barger (Patrick); one brother, Edward Allen; four grandchildren, Clay Allen, Sammy Allen, Kayla Fatica and Kelsey Fatica. Also survived by close friends, Blanche and Jack Gehrlein and Harriett Morris; many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
