Dusckas Obituaries
James Anderson
James Anderson, age 72, formerly of Erie, passed away at his home in Hollywood, Florida on Sunday, August 29, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 4, 1938, son of the late Charles W. and Marie Bert Anderson.
Jim spent most of his life in the Erie area. He retired from the Harbor Creek School District where he worked as a school bus driver and later drove tour bus for many more years. He especially enjoyed trips to area casinos where he was know to try his luck from time to time. When he wasn't working, Jim loved to watch movies on television especially Westerns. He and Carol enjoyed camping at Campers Hill and more recently spending time at a Seniors Activity center where they enjoyed playing bingo.
Besides his wife, Jim is survived by sons, James (Karen) and Steve Anderson of Erie; sister-in-law, Betty Anderson (Kenny) of Erie; step-children, Pam Fortney (Phil) of Florida, Robin Lightner (Todd), Tim Vincent, Tom Vincent, Todd Vincent, Beth Rowe (Jim) and Tonya Vincent (fiancé Jeff Keener) all of Erie; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margery; a son Gerald; an infant son and twin daughters; his brothers, Charles and Kenny; and a sister, Mable Garstenshlayer.
Friends will be received at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Saturday from 12 Noon until the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. conducted by Rev. Clifford Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Family through the funeral home.
