Maxine E. "Max" Johnson Snyder, age 86, of Wesleyville, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Twinbrook Medical Center. She was born January 27, 1924 in Mt. Jewett, Pa., daughter of the late Andrew and Bessie Byers Johnson. Maxine had resided in the Erie area for most of her life.

Maxine had been employed by General Electric Co. for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Wesleyville. Her hobbies included walking, gardening and socializing with her neighbors.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Montero, who passed away in 1988, and her sister, Marge Best. Survivors include one daughter, Becky Wallen (Gary) of Erie; four grandchildren, Melissa and Michelle Montero, and Andrew and Brooke Wallen; six great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Monday at 11 a.m. at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road.
