Mary Tercho Sidun

Mary Tercho Sidun, age 91, former long-time resident of Harborcreek Twp., passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Twinbrook Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born March 9, 1919 in Ronco, PA, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Dunda Tercho. During her early years, Mary had resided in Albion and moved to the Erie area during the early 1940's.

Mary had previously been employed by the former Louis Marx Toy Co.; at her late husband's place of business, Quality Heat Treat Corp.; as well as the Millcreek Mall. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church. Mary had served as a volunteer for the Erie County Democratic Party. She enjoyed traveling and shopping; and was a football fan, and especially a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates teams.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Sidun; one son, Louis R. Sidun; two grandchildren, infant Strasser and Eric J. Strasser; three brothers, John, Jr., Stephen and Michael Tercho; three sisters, Helen Ruzicko, Wilma Senyo and Veronica Kubinski; and two infant sisters, Margaret and Ann.

Mary is survived by four loving children, Yvonne M. Strasser of Erie, George J. Sidun (wife Anna) of Ontario, Canada, Bartholomew D. Sidun (wife Karen) of Florida, and Matthew J. Sidun (wife Brenda) of Erie; one sister, Elizabeth Aldrich (husband Richard) of Conneaut, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
