Dorothy Cramer Altimus, age 83, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Manor East, following a brief illness. She was born November 23, 1926 in Johnstown, Pa. a daughter of the late Merrit and Elta Cramer. She had resided in the Erie area since 1963.

Dot had been employed as a dietician with the Men's Rehab Division of the Salvation Army prior to her retirement. She had previously been employed by the G.E. Community Center. Dot was a member of East Lake Road Alliance Church. She was an accomplished pianist and had played for the Men's Social at the Salvation Army and her former church in Nanty Glow, Pa. Dot enjoyed singing, especially with her husband as well as spending time on her swing at home overlooking Lake Erie.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Theodore Cramer. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Wayne M. Altimus; two children, Beverly Jones (husband Chesley) of Erie and Dennis Altimus (wife Roberta) of Erie; four grandchildren, David Lefebre, Kimberly Jones, Chad Altimus and Nathan Lefebre; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday at East Lake Road Alliance Church at 11 a.m. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery.
