Richard Erwin Riblet, age 88, of Erie, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge. He was born May 23, 1922, son of the late Burton and Mary Brown Riblet.

Richard was affectionately known to his family as "Bumpa". He was a member of Gospel Assembly Hall and Grace Gospel Chapel and had been a Sunday school teacher for 39 years. He loved camping, woodworking, word puzzles and was a fix-it man. Rich had been employed by Lake Shore Industries for 28 years. He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Preceded in death by his wife, Anna Riblet in 1991; his brother, Donald Burton Riblet; and his sister, Elsie May Riblet Tryon. Left to appreciate his memory are his son, Daniel Riblet; his daughter, Becky Danielson; two grandsons, Charles "Chuck" Danielson and Aaron Riblet; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 11 a.m. conducted by Doug Tryon and Sonny Concepcion. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
