 Rev. Noel A. Ripley
Noel A. Ripley, age 74, of Millcreek, was welcomed home by his Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Manor East. He was born in Erie on September 1, 1935, son of the late Glenn and Helen Sharpe Ripley.
Noel was a founding member of Community Christian Church. He previously taught Sunday School and also played the flute during church worship. Noel taught at Kansas City Christian School and was Assistant Pastor at Crest Bible Church in Kansas; had the first computer business in Souderton, Pa.; worked for Mace Electronics in Erie and also taught Greek at various local area churches. Prior to retirement he was self-employed as a handyman. He was a member of the Independent Fundamental Church of America and American Mensa Limited. Noel attended Dallas Theological Seminary; Biblical Theological Seminary and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Calvary Bible College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Noel enjoyed computers, photography and Model MKT trains and model airplanes. He was very active as a leader in Boy Scouts of America.
Noel is survived by his wife, Constance Marie Settlemeyer Ripley; one son, Jonathan Ripley; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two brothers, Ames and Quay Ripley.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Community Christian Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. Dan Laird. Private interment Erie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Christian Church, 1911 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA 16510.
