Bertha "Bert" Lininger, age 100, residing at Pleasant Ridge Manor East, went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 1, 2010. She was born in Kylertown, Pa. on April 18, 1909, daughter of the late Flynn and Mabel Jury Hoover.

Bert was a lifelong member of First Alliance Church. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed knitting and reading her bible.

The widow of Howard C. Lininger, survivors include two daughters, Betty Green (Stanley) of Abingdon, Va. and Shirley Waite (Ronald) of Erie; one son, Howard "Bud" Lininger (Joan) of New Haven, Ind.; two sisters, Audrey Lawson and Joanne Sam (John) all of Erie; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by six sisters, Mona Hess, Louise Hull, Ruth Horton, Sarah Roos, Evelyn Smith and Alice Smith; one brother, William Hoover who died in France during WWII; and one grandson, Robert Green.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Thursday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. David Snyder of The First Alliance Church. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
