Martin H. Bennett

Martin H. Bennett, age 78, of Erie, passed away Friday, February 5, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. He was born May 26, 1931 in Endicott, N.Y., son of the late Harold M. Bennett and Elsie Carey Bennett Simpson.

Martin retired from IBM in Endicott, N.Y. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, golfing and working on the computer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Hornet.

Preceded in death by one son, John Randall and one brother, James Bennett. Martin is survived by his wife, Diane Hills Bennett; his children, Michael Bennett (Barbara) of Newark Valley, N.Y., Theresa Doughty (Paul) of Clarks Summit, Pa., Margaret Dudley (Kevin) of Great Meadows, N.J., Kathy Bennett of Windsor, N.Y., Susan Smart of Shelby, N.C. and Jerry Randall of Smyrna, Ga.; grandchildren, Alyssa Bennett, Lauren and Karen Doughty, Christopher Almy, Rebecca and Melinda Dudley, Joshua, Jason, Amanda and Roger Rowe; and his aunt, Malinda Parris, Vestal, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. James R.C. Church. Interment will be private.
