 Jonathan "Jon" G. Belfiore
Jonathan "Jon" G. Belfiore, age 24, of Lawrence Park, stationed with the U.S. Army at Ft. Lee, Va., passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009. He was born in Erie on August 22, 1985.
Jon was a 2003 graduate of Iroquois High School. He was gifted musically with the trumpet and often had the solo work in the marching band and orchestra. He also played with several jazz bands in the area. Jon enjoyed the outdoors, especially during the hunting and fishing season. Jon was also an avid football fan and enjoyed both The University of Pittsburgh and the Minnesota Vikings. He joined the U.S. Army in 2008.
Jon is survived by his wife, Rebecca Deutsch Belfiore; his children, Ethan, age 5 and Olivia, 11 weeks; his parents, Daniel Belfiore and his wife Judy, and Kathy Harris and her companion, Terry Leaper; his sister, Amy Docherty and her husband, Michael; his niece and nephew, Rebecca and Michael; his grandmother, Shirley Harris; his half-brothers, Nick, Chris and Matt Belfiore and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call the Dusckas Funeral Home Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday at 11 am at The First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W. 7th St. conducted by Rev. Dr. Dale Southorn and Rev. David Edmunds. A Full Military service will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Iroquois Band Boosters to benefit the Iroquois Marching Band, 4301 Main St., Erie, Pa. 16511.
