Richard G. Allen

Richard G. Allen, age 82, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 following an extended illness. He was born in Cambridge Springs, Pa. on January 16, 1927, son of the late Lynn Allen and Catharine Petticord Morris.

Dick was self employed as a General Contractor. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trapping. He was a gifted craftsman and made many beautiful pieces of furniture. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include eight children, Michelle Shuman (Jack), Steven Allen, Kathryn Prindle, Diana Stewart, Debra Brown, Brian Allen (Sue), Richard Stafford (Christine) and Jason Allen; his uncle, John Gates; 23 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., West, 536 West 10th Street on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. Mary Stewart. Interment, Gravel Run Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family through the funeral home.
