Frank V. Amicucci, Sr., age 88, of Wesleyville, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born in Erie on August 11, 1921, son of the late Nicola and Bridget Iesue Amicucci.

Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for General Electric for 40 years. Frank enjoyed gardening and cooking, and was fondly remembered for his "famous" spaghetti sauce. He enjoyed raising rabbits.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mariette Amicucci and two sisters, Mary Brzozowski and Pam Amicucci. Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Pauline Verdoni Amicucci; his children, Frank Amicucci Jr. of Erie, Nick Amicucci (Pat) of Delran, NJ and Cathy Fuerstnau (John) of Canton, MI; one sister, Connie McMillen of Grand Prairie, TX; five grandchildren, Lisa Thurow (Mike) of Marlton, NJ, Michele Amicucci of Delran, NJ, Teri Amicucci and Sean Amicucci both of Erie, and Nicole Fuerstnau of Canton, MI; one great-grandson, Colin Thurow of Marlton, NJ; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with full military honors conducted by by Millcreek American Legion Post #773l.
