Shirley I. Hilbert Ames

Shirley I. Hilbert Ames, 82, of Erie, passed away surrounded by her beloved family on Monday, September 28, 2009 at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh following a brief illness. She was born May 9, 1927 in Erie, a daughter of Irene Kern Hilbert of Millcreek Twp., and the late Clarence Hilbert.

She had resided in Erie her entire life. Shirley enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting casinos.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Ames. In addition to her mother, survivors include her five children, Shirleen R. Wolfe (husband Harry) of North East, Deborah I. Hurley (husband Tim) of Erie, Clarence Ames (wife Kathleen) of Arizona, Linda DeBello (husband John) of Erie, and Joseph Ames and his companion, Lynn, of Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted there on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
