Emil Antolik

Emil Antolik, age 85, of Erie, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born in Fairview, PA on August 9, 1923, son of the late George and Mary Yascur Antolik.

Emil was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church. He was a carpenter/contractor who owned and operated Antolik and Montie Construction until his retirement in 1987. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving during WWII in the South Pacific. Emil enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Emil is survived by his wife of 62 years, Olive Mountain Antolik; four daughters, Sandra Globa (James) of Erie, Diane Gerlach (Frank) of Harborcreek, Deborah Buckham of Clifton, VA, and Patricia Montie (Rich) of Harborcreek; son-in-law, Kent Buckham of Clifton, VA, one brother, Ted Antolik of Painesville, OH; four grandchildren, Ryan Buckham (Christy), Emily Buday (Les), Adam Montie (fiance, Marcie Mukina) and Jessi Montie, two great grandchildren, Jaidyn and Addison Buday, step grandchildren, Doug Gerlach (Debbie), Karen Twarski (Daniel) and Juleann Landis (Scott), several step great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, John, George and Michael Antolik and John and George Gido and three sisters, Mary Adams, Margaret Chivers and Anna Gido.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Friday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel R.C. Church. A full military service will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery conducted by American Legion Carl Neff Post 571. Memorial contributions may be made to Canine Companions for Independence, 4989 State Rt. 37E, Delaware, OH 43015 or to a charity of one's choice.
