Marjorie Mae Best
Marjorie Mae Best, age 83, was born on March 19, 1925 in Mt. Jewett, PA to late parents Andrew and Bessie Johnson. She moved to Wesleyville as a young girl and resided there until she moved to Brevillier Village. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Marjorie graduated from Wesleyville High School and then Hamot School of Nursing in 1946. She continued her profession as an R.N. into her 70's, including many years at the Community Blood Bank. Marjorie was a fearless traveler and visited all 50 states and many countries. Her passion for Hawaii took her there nine times. Many of her trips included her children and grandchildren to make the "Best party of 13". Marjorie was very generous to family and friends and performed selfless acts of caring and volunteering at Conrad House for many years.
Marjorie is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James "Larry" Best; her son, James Best (wife Linda); her daughter, Melody Rodland (husband Jack); one sister, Maxine Snyder; her special niece, Becky Wallen (Gary); two cousins and their children; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, including Greg Best (wife Jen), Amber Rodland (significant other Jeff Werbitt), Kimberly Huffman (husband Jim), Holly Best, Dan Best (wife Corey), Karen Rizzo (husband Nate) and John Rodland (wife Misty); eight great-grandchildren, Lanie Huffman, Evelyn, Charles and Lydia Best, Wyatt Rodland, Jack and Hope Rizzo and Cannon Best.
Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road is handling funeral arrangements. At Marjorie's request there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 28th at 2 p.m. at St. Barnabas Chapel at Brevillier Village, 5416 E. Lake Road officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Piccirilli.
