CeCelia M. Alexander

CeCelia M. Alexander, age 41, died suddenly Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Millcreek Community Hospital. She was born in Erie on March 24, 1967, daughter of the late Warren and Mary Jane Szumigala Rathburn. She had lived in the Erie area all of her life.

CeCelia was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School, Class of 1985. She was once employed as a home health care aide for several years. She enjoyed baking, crafts, knitting, puzzles and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Alexander; two sons, Steven Jr. and Wendell, both at home; four sisters, Clara "Sissy" Woodard and her husband Herman of Summit Twp., Theresa Brown, Lois Rathburn and Michelle Smith, all of Erie; three brothers, Charles Rathburn of Summit Twp., James Rathburn and his wife Genevieve and Michael Rathburn, all of Erie; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. CeCelia was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Wilhemia and her brother, Patrick Rathburn.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Thursday at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. William Sutherland of St. Patrick R.C. Church. Interment, Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute, 100 Barber Place, Erie, PA 16507.
