Berdina M. Towell Zysk Woodring

Berdina M. Towell Zysk Woodring, age 80 of Erie and formerly of Harborcreek Twp., passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Elmwood Presbyterian Lodge following an extended illness. She was born in Clausen, Michigan on April 24, 1928, daughter of the late John and Florence Filegar Towell.

A resident of Harborcreek Twp. for most of her life, Berdina worked for several years at General Electric Co. and then as a cook at Stuckey's. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church. She loved to play bingo and especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Hoh (Mike) of Summit Twp; one son, John Zysk (Amy) of Texas; one stepson, Charles Woodring (Donna) of OH; two sisters, Shirley Damico (Mike) of VA and Cory Koskela (Ed) of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren, Christine and Josh Hoh and J.D. and Christopher Zysk; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Zysk; her second husband, Charles H. Woodring; an infant daughter, Debbie Zysk; one stepdaughter, Nancy Ludwig; one stepson, Jim Woodring; and two brothers, Leonard and John Towell.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to most everyone at Elmwood Presbyterian Lodge, especially Janet, Tina, Jennifer and Cathy. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Services of Erie County, 1305 Peach St., Erie, PA 16501.
