Margaret Haines

Margaret Haines, age 92, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at her residence in Erie. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 22, 1915, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Bruszo Deutsch.

She had lived in Erie since 1937. She was a graduate of East High School in Akron, Ohio, Class of 1933 and was a Licensed Practical Nurse with St. Vincent Health Center in the Pediatric Unit, and was known as Grandma, until her retirement in 1977. She was an avid traveler, reader, enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

The widow of Daniel M. Haines, who passed away in 1985, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Deutsch; her sister, Helen Gehres; her cousin, Margaret Nagy and her granddaughter, Linda Neely. Margaret is survived by three daughters, Naomi J. Banko (Emil) of Corona, CA, Joan Hull (Gilbert) of Millcreek Twp. and Damaris L. Haines of Erie; one son, Michael Haines (Jill) of Wattsburg; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and four nieces.

No calling hours will be observed. Private Services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. The Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., West, 536 West 10th Street is handling arrangements.
