Sgt. Everett H. "Skip" Shook, Jr.

Everett H. "Skip" Shook, Jr., age 23, of Wesleyville, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008. He was born in Dallas, TX on June 21, 1984, the son of Everett & Mary Shook, Sr. of Wesleyville.

Skip was a 2003 graduate of Iroquois High School where he played football and basketball. He served in the U.S. Army and was first based in Germany for 1 year. Skip was then stationed at Ft. Hood, TX, where he was deployed to Iraq for 15 months. He was just discharged on February 9, 2008. Skip worked as a dock worker with Team Hardinger, loved playing basketball and was on a basketball team at Family First. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh.

Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Kristie Ducharme and her husband, Casey of Tampa, FL and Anna Ochoa of Wesleyville; one brother, Michael Ochoa of Charlottesville, VA; his grandmother, Charleen Shook of Dallas, TX; two nieces and one nephew; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Wednesday at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Greg Townsend. A full military service conducted by the U.S. Army will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
