Charles R. Fitzpatrick

Charles R. Fitzpatrick, age 83, of Lawrence Park Twp., died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Millcreek Community Hospital following an extended illness. He was born June 6, 1924 in Limestone, NY, son of the late John and Mary Ford Fitzpatrick. He had resided in Lawrence Park Twp. for over 60 years.

Charles was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was awarded three Bronze Stars for his service. He was employed by the General Electric Co. for 42 years prior to his retirement and was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and the Retiree's Assn. Charles was a member of the Wayne Park Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Fitzpatrick and three sisters, Josephine Dixon, Kathleen Fitzpatrick and Mamie Moon. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joyce E. Bartlett Fitzpatrick; two children, Judy Martone (husband Mike) and Daniel Fitzpatrick (wife Vivian) all of Erie; two sisters, Anna Tenney of Erie and Leona Adams of Limestone, NY; three grandchildren, Stacey Hayford, Ashley and Candice Martone; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Thursday at 11 a.m. conducted by Pastor Donald Hess, of Wayne Park Baptist Church. Private interment, Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne Park Baptist Church, 923 E. 6th St., Erie, PA 16507.
