Lucy K. Bills

Lucy K. Bills, 79, of Wesleyville, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. She was born October 4, 1928 in Evans City, PA. She was the daughter of Paul and Mary Sweetapple Pfeifer.

Lucy graduated from Wilkinsburg High School. She worked for Michael's craft store in Monroeville, PA for 26 years until her retirement in 1998. In 1999 she moved from Murrysville, PA to Wesleyville. Lucy had many hobbies. First, her favorite, was travel. She visited all 50 states and every country in Europe. She took many bus trips with Joe's Seniors Bus Tours. Lucy spent every March in Florida with her cousin Evelyn. Second, she loved to play the organ. She would travel in a group from house to house playing the organ and also hosted organ lessons in her home. Third, she was a collector. Her collections include thimbles, lighthouses, dishes, twisted handle butter knives, keys, magnets, buttons and other antiques. Lucy was a member of the Silver Sneakers, Red Hat Society and also the Jeannette chapter of the Eastern Star.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, who died on February 24, 1972; two brothers, Sidney and Ellis; also, long-time friend, John Ingrahm. Survivors include one son, Charles (Anita) of Harborcreek; four grandchildren, Vanessa (John) of Millcreek, Paul (Shani) of Wesleyville, Jessica (John) of Harborcreek, and Jeremy (Brandy) of North East; seven great-grandchildren, Erica, Charlie, Natalie, Hadleigh, Haven, Lauryn and Haily. She also leaves behind close friends, Bev and Ellie; and her cousin Evelyn; other cousins, nieces and nephews; and the children of John Ingrahm.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. conducted by Grace Baptist Church. Interment, Erie County Memorial Gardens.
