Waneta Y. Bell

Waneta Y. Bell, age 87, of Harborcreek Twp., died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Twinbrook Medical Center. She was born on April 10, 1920 in Indiana, PA, daughter of the late William Ellsworth and Bertha Palmer Starry. She had lived in the Erie area since 1942.

Waneta was employed at the Harbor Creek High School cafeteria for 14-1/2 years, retiring in 1983. She had previously been employed at W.T. Grant Co. and General Electric. She was a member of East Lake Road Alliance Church.

The widow of Ivan K. Bell, survivors include her daughter, Karen S. Bell of Harborcreek Twp., her son, David L. Bell (Jill) of Lawrence Park; one sister, Betty Hutchinson of Indiana, PA; four brothers, Ted Starry of McKeesport, PA, Paul Starry of Indiana, PA, Robert Starry of McAdoo, PA and Doyle Starry of Punxsutawney, PA; three grandchildren, Erica, Michael & Anthony; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Starry.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Rick Rubeis. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
