Gertrude R. Anderson

Gertrude R. Anderson, age 89, of Erie, residing in Virginia from 1968 to 1994, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center. She was born in Erie, on February 2, 1918, daughter of the late Eric and Ruth Larson.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. Gertrude had worked at Marathon Electric in Erie prior to moving to Virginia. She enjoyed baking, cross stitching and keeping house.

Gertrude was preceded in death in 1984 by her husband C. Ray Anderson; three brothers, Kenneth, Gustave and Allan Larson; and one sister, Winnie Adams. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Anderson of Erie; one son, Eric Anderson and wife Linda of Lyndhurst, Ohio, one brother, Eric Larson of Taylors, SC; one sister, Carol Faley of Erie; two granddaughters, Jennifer Armentrout and husband Rev. James and Julie Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Eric, Benjamin and Allison Armentrout; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Stephen E. Morse of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and Rev. James Armentrout. Interment, Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant Capital Campaign Fund, 250 West 7th St., Erie, PA 16501.
