David J. Amann
David J. Amann, age 57, of Fairview Township, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born in Erie on December 4, 1950, son of the late Carl and Joann Schuller Amann.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Viet Nam War and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a lifetime member of NERA and a former member of American Legion Millcreek Post 773 and Post 742. David had been co-owner of the former Lighthouse Electric for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and photography.
David is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda Malmberg Amann; three step-daughters, Laura Peters (Brian) of Glendale, AZ, Karyn Santry (Patrick) of Girard, PA and Amiee Joint (Jim) of Erie; one sister, Mary Ann Szklenski (Moe) of Harborcreek Twp.; two brothers, Donald Amann (Sheryl) of Allentown, PA and Robert Amann (Maryah) of Fairview Twp.; his mother-in-law, Laurelle O'Leary of Fairview Twp.; 9 grandchildren, whom he cherished dearly; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. James McCormick of St. James R.C. Church. Full military honors will follow conducted by the Erie Crawford County Veterans Burial Detail. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Family through the funeral home.
