George J. Adamowicz

George J. Adamowicz, age 79, of Millcreek, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Erie on February 25, 1929, son of the late Frank and Catherine Adamowicz.

George was employed as an Inspector for American Sterilizer prior to retirement. He was a 1947 graduate of Technical High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 5958 and American Legion Post 773; enjoyed golfing, hunting and shooting pool.

George is survived by four children, Timothy Adamowicz (Cookie) of Wheeling, WVA, David Adamowicz (Renee), Daniel Adamowicz and Leslie Ball, all of Erie; two sisters, Pauline Amendola and Irene Rupp of Erie; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, Larry, Edward, Frank and Carl and two sisters, Gertrude and Rosie.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment, Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to The Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
