William J. Allen

William J. Allen, age 85 of Harborcreek Twp. died Tuesday, June 19, 2007 in Bedford, NH following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on May 24, 1922, the son of William and Margaret Allen.

Bill was a retiree of General Electric Co. where he was employed for 44 years; and served in WWII as an aircraft engine mechanic. Bill was mechanically inclined and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife Judy and they loved wintering in Phoenix. Bill was a great conversationalist with a near photographic memory. He was a loving husband and father.

Bill is survived by two daughters, Linda Jones and husband Larry of Erie and Sandy Nash and husband James of Merrimack, NH; his sister, Pat Klein and husband Jeri of Erie; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy of 57 years; sister, Gert Cline; and brother, Jack Allen.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. David Laakso of Faith Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to The Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
