George R. Powell

George R. Powell, 72, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at his residence in North East. He was born on January 14, 1938 in Beallesville, OH a son of the late Roy Richard and Elizabeth Betty Urbanski Powell.

George was a 1956 graduate of Harborcreek High School and owned and operated a grape farm for many years.

Preceded in death by his wife Doris M. Powell in 2005 and one daughter Kimberly Kimmy. George is survived by four sons, Daniel Powell and his wife Rose of Girard, Timothy Powell and his wife Jen of Green Twp., Thomas Powell of North East and David Powell and his wife Lorena of Houston, TX, one daughter, Wendy Powell of North East, one brother Roy Powell Jr of New York and one sister Eileen Anthony of NC. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St, North East, PA on Wednesday from 6 P.M. until the time of funeral services there at 8:30P.M. His brother, Reader, Roy Richard Powell Jr. will officiate. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family in North East Cemetery.
