Edward E. (Gramps) Galeski

Edward E. (Gramps) Galeski, 68, of North East, PA passed away Friday October 30, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born on January 28, 1941 in Erie, PA a son of the late John and Jean Margaret Terrell Galeski.

After 37 years, Ed retired in 1999 as Maintenance Supervisor at The Electric Materials Co. in North East. He attended Erie First Assembly of God Church, Erie, PA. Ed was a member of North East Lodge #399 F. & A.M. in North East and the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Erie. He owned and operated his own grape farm in North East.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, the outdoors and working on his grape farm. Ed and his wife Pam celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 23, 2009 with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother Leonard Galeski. Ed is survived by his wife Pamela H. Galeski, one son, Mark E. Galeski and his wife Tammy of Bremerton, WA, two daughters, Laura A. Bargielski of Erie and Robin G. Reese of Tidioute, PA, one sister, Roberta Ellsworth of Wattsburg, PA, 7 grandchildren, Brian Thomson and his wife Nicole, Eric and Tyler Wilson, Maggie Reese and Shane, Samantha and Alexandra Galeski and 3 great grandchildren, Dylan and Meranda Thomson and Ayla Dawn Reese. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. and are invited to attend funeral services there on Tuesday at 11 A.M. Pastor Don Fisher, of Erie First Assembly will officiate. Interment will be in North East Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park St., North East, PA 16428 or to the Erie Co. Diabetes Assn, 1128 State St, Suite 302, Erie, PA 16501. North East Lodge #399 F. & A.M. will conduct services there Monday evening at 7:00 P.M.
