Lee Dewayne Whitesel

Lee DeWayne Whitesel, 80, formerly of North East and Erie, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at his residence in Titusville, PA. He was born on January 9, 1929 in Reynoldsville, PA a son of the late John and Pansy Smith Whitesel.

Lee was an inspector for Erie General Electric having retired in 1990 after 42 years. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club. After retirement he spent his time remodeling and fixing up older houses. He loved playing the guitar, writing songs and singing and was very active in his church. He was a Volunteer Fireman and former Fire Chief with the Brookside Fire Dept. in Harborcreek. Lee was an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, 6 sisters and one great granddaughter. Lee is survived by his wife, Rose M. Whitesel, two daughters, Brenda Merritt and her husband Mark of Harborcreek and Pamela Koszewski of Erie and one sister, Mona Harmon of Reynoldsville, PA. Also survived by four grandchildren, Jessica Foster, William Koszewski, James Maille and Nicole Koszewski and one great granddaughter Kiya Koszewski.

Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of funeral services there at noon. Pastor Rick Maas officiating. Interment will be in North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
