Kenneth L. Burnside
Kenneth L. Burnside, 60, passed away Saturday, May 03, 2008 at his residence, 230 S. Washington St., North East, PA. He was born on May 10, 1947 in Gowanda, NY a son of Elma Love of Yuma, AZ and the late J. LeRoy Burnside.
Ken worked as a manufacturing engineer and in the machine repair department at Cummins, Inc. in Lakewood, NY for 30 years. He enjoyed owning and riding Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and for several years served on the fund raising committee for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He served with the U.S. Army with the rank of SP5 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #105 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2568, both in North East.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Carlson. In addition to his mother, Ken is survived by his wife Tracy A. Burnside, three daughters, Amy Pillittieri and her husband David of Jamestown, NY, Jennifer Pilling of Phoenix, AZ and Khadija Newark of Erie, one brother, Dennis Burnside and his wife Caroline of Ottawa, Canada and four grandchildren, Liam Pillittieri, Vanessa Pillittieri, Jakob Newark and Kharma Wilkins. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. and are invited to attend funeral services there on Wednesday at 11 A.M.
