Ruth Blake

Ruth Blake, 82, of North East, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at Twinbrook Medical Center. She was born on June 22, 1925 in Pottstown, PA a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Butwin.

Ruth was an avid Bridge player, gardener, volunteer, and enjoyed playing tennis and discussing the issues of the day. She was a member of AARP, League of Women Voters, North East Women's Club, and the North East Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Blake in 1986. Ruth is survived by one son, James K. Blake Jr., and his wife Lisa C. of Great Meadows, NJ, one daughter, Sharon J. Teets and her husband Charles E. of Oakland, MD. Also survived by one brother, one sister and five grandchildren.

Private Services are being handled by the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East. Memorials may be made to the North East Historical Society, 25 Vine St., North East, PA 16428 or the charity of one's choice.
