Rose A. Ayers

Rose A. Ayers, 88, a lifelong resident of North East, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1919 in North East, PA a daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine Aqueista Triana.

Rose was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in North East, and a member of the church Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of AARP and the North East Senior Citizens Center where she did volunteer work. Rose enjoyed ceramics, reading and traveling. She retired as a cook for St. Mary's College in 1981 after 21 years.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harold T. Ayers Jr. in 2003, two brothers and four sisters. Rose is survived by her son, Harold T. Ayers III of North East, two brothers, Nick Triana and his wife Irene of WI and Sam Triana and his wife Ruth of FL, three sisters, Josephine Insina and her husband Sam of Canada, Mary Kress and Barbara Wagner, both of North East. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. and are invited to attend prayer services there on Saturday at 10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Gregory Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Gregory's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory's Grade School, 140 W. Main St., North East, PA 16428 or to the charity of one's choice.
