Phyllis V. Ailes

Phyllis V. Ailes, 88, of 1261 Freeport Rd., North East, PA went to be with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born on April 5, 1919 in Richardsville, PA a daughter of the late Dwight Lyman and Ethel M. Work Varner.

Prior to her retirement, she worked in the loan department of the National Bank of North East for many years. Phyllis was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Burr Freer (Doc) Ailes in 1979. Survivors include one son, Donald John Ailes and his wife Carol of Corry, PA, one daughter, Dr. Lee Bowers of Vilanova, PA and one sister, Frances V. Whittenhall of Horseheads, NY. Also survived by 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Monday at 10 A.M. with her son, Donald John Ailes officiating. Interment will be in Richardsville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to McCord Memorial Library, 32 W. Main St., North East, PA or the North East Community Food Pantry, 30 Bothel St., North East, PA 16428.
